Why do people who love each other refuse to make things lead towards a relationship?

Love is something that many people today have complicated. It has become complicated because love is looked at as a feeling instead of an action. We are a generation that is emotion led instead of action led. So when you meet someone whom you dearly love but for some reason, things will not manifest into a relationship; I have bad news for you…they do not love you.

In today’s generation, many people have confused their deep liking for another person with love. I mentioned that love is action and it is vital to embrace that fact. Our emotions are never steady. One minute we can be happy and the very next moment we can find ourselves depressed. Love is not on and off. It is because you love a person that you will treat he or she right. It is because of love that you will begin to plan your future with them involved.

In your case, love should make you guys want to take your friendship to a relationship. Anything outside of a relationship at this point is a situation-ship. I am assuming that you both have shared your love with each other and yet things are still complicated. It sounds to me that games are being played on someone’s end. This is how situation-ships often occur.

If that person is stating excuses as to why the two of you cannot be together then I strongly suggest that you let that person go immediately. Anything after that point is just growing into a situation-ship. If you are doing everything that a relationship entails but are not together, that is not the act of love; that is an act of selfishness, playing games, immaturity, fear and downright foolishness. People who play games with one another are not mature enough of the reality of love. They are certainly embracing the notions of like. The difference between love and like is this: Like will make you stand still but love will make you want to move towards the direction of stability such as a relationship and marriage. I must add that like is an emotion led and love is action led.

It is possible that the two of you like each other deeply but take time to evaluate if love is what you both truly feel for one another. True love is certain, it is never uncertain as the great Maya Angelou stated in Tyler Perry’s “Madea’s Family Reunion”. I must add that real men know how important a title is for a woman. Any men who thinks differently of that statement, is still venturing in their boyhood and that is okay for a person who does not desire a relationship.
